Job Summary:

The Dialysis Technician/CMA-HT is responsible for providing skilled hemodialysis patient care in a clinical setting. This role involves operating dialysis equipment, monitoring patients during treatment, and ensuring adherence to safety and clinical protocols. The position requires collaboration with healthcare professionals to deliver quality care and support to patients undergoing dialysis treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain dialysis equipment according to clinical standards.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and response during dialysis treatments.
  • Prepare patients for dialysis, including access site care and equipment setup.
  • Assist with patient assessments and report changes to nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient treatment records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care.
  • Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • WA-MA-HT certification (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician - CCHT) national certification.
  • Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant or Dialysis Technician.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in dialysis or related patient care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of dialysis procedures and equipment operation.
  • Ability to monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience working in outpatient dialysis clinics or hospital dialysis units.
  • Additional certifications related to renal care or phlebotomy.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation systems.
Special Considerations:
  • Must be available to work alternating shifts including days, evenings, and some Saturdays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment requiring adherence to strict safety protocols.
Scheduling:
  • Shift schedule includes day and evening shifts with weekend rotations.
  • Shift assignments may alternate based on departmental needs.
